This lovely vintage Royal Doulton plate features the Zodiac illustrations of Victorian artist Kate Greenaway. This is the Sagittarius plate (there were 12 different plates made, one for each sign of the Zodiac).
These plates were produced by Royal Doulton in the '70s to celebrate the beautiful artwork of Kate Greenaway (1846 - 1901) from her 1884 Almanack. Wonderful design on both front, as well as on the back which features dates in history from her Almanack.
In excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. No wear issues.
Size: diameter is about 8.5".
