More about this item

This stunningly colorful ceramic African vase highlights a safari scene in vivid colors of sky blue, bright yellows, greens, oranges and reds.  Makes a wonderful centerpiece.

This vintage vase was made in Zimbabwe in the 1990's and handpainted, signed and dated by the artist, Dumi.  It is marked on the base with the date (1997), artist signature, and "Penzo Zim" (a reference to Penelope (“Penny Penzo”) Vincent who is a world renowned Artist who led the development and commercialization of hand painted African pottery in Zimbabwe in the 1990s).

It showcases African scenery with animals in a striking multicolor design, including giraffes, hippopotamus, and sable antelope, the national symbol of Zimbabwe.

This cylindrical vase is 11 inches tall and about 4 inches wide.

In excellent vintage condition. There are no cracks or chips. Some minor crazing on the glaze on the base, as is common in vintage pottery.

This stunning vase is a beautiful, eye catching piece of African folk art / tribal art.
