More about this item

This is a Live Bromeliad Plant - a Pink Earth Star or Cryptanthus Bivittatus 'Pink Star'.  The plant is shipped with soil in a 3.5 inch pot as shown.  This plant can also be planted in any of the planters in my other listings - send me a message or custom order for pricing if you would like it shipped in a planter. Otherwise, it will ship in the plastic nursery pot as shown.

Cryptanthus are great as houseplants by themselves, or as colorful additions to a terrarium or fairy garden. They prefer regular watering but also can tolerate drought quite well. They like humidity so misting is appreciated although not necessary (they would be very happy in a bathroom environment). They do well in moderate, indirect light. More light will bring out more of the pink/red tones in the leaves. They are quite slow growing, very easy-going houseplants.

This Cryptanthus "Pink Star" variety has leaves that are striped in green and reddish-pink.

You will receive a plant very similar to the one in the photos - it may not be the exact same plant.
